David has over 25 years of experience as an executive compensation consultant, joining Hugessen in 2012.
Prior to joining Hugessen, David was a senior leader in the executive compensation practice of Towers Watson. During this period, he performed dual roles of being the lead advisor for several companies, as well as supporting clients of other Canadian consultants on technical, performance & financial and corporate transactional issues relating to executive compensation.
EXPERIENCE
David has significant experience assisting Boards and owners in structuring, setting and making decisions relating to executive pay programs. His expertise also extends to supporting clients on technical, performance & financial and corporate transactional issues relating to executive compensation.
David has published several articles and papers on executive compensation and related matters; as well he is an active presenter at conferences and continuing education forums. Notably, David co-authored publications on executive pay and director pay as part of a “20 Questions Directors Should Ask” series, produced by the Risk Management and Governance Board of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (now CPA). He also teaches for the Director Education Program at the ICD. Finally, David recently authored a publication with the CPA on equity compensation alternative structures.
Prior to completing his MBA, David worked as an Analyst at ScotiaMcLeod.
EDUCATION
David is a CFA charterholder and received an MBA from Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
