Richard is an accomplished Executive Compensation Consultant and Board Advisor with deep experience in designing effective compensation strategies that align performance with organizational objectives. Richard is adept at understanding the core business strategy, operations, and stakeholders of his clients, and he develops thoughtful solutions driven by in-depth analysis.
Having partnered with numerous boards of directors and executive teams, Richard provides strategic guidance to help his clients navigate the complex landscape of executive compensation and its governance. He takes a collaborative approach to developing tailored solutions that deliver a competitive and responsible approach to executive compensation. Currently, Richard supports a wide range of publicly traded and private companies in financial services, real estate, technology, energy, consumer products, industrial manufacturing, and asset management.
Richard is also an active thought leader and regularly authors briefings and articles on the field of executive compensation. He is a speaker and co-presenter with the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) in their Directors Education Program (DEP).
Experience
Prior to joining Hugessen, Richard gained experience building financial models and performing business analytics for a global human resource consulting company. He also has experience in financial analysis supporting forecasting and budgeting processes for a multinational engineering company.
Education
Richard graduated from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree. He has also studied in Belgium at Université catholique de Louvain through an international exchange program.
